TheGenius is Dimsport’s next generation stand alone ECU programming tool. It combines the capabilities of the previous New Genius and New Trasdata tools in a single compact, rugged device, integrating OBD, BENCH and OPEN modes so one unit covers diagnostic port work, bench reads and writes and open mode access. It runs completely independently of a PC or internet connection, which is exactly why so many mobile technicians and workshop tuners have moved to it.
This renewal extends the subscription attached to your existing TheGenius tool. It is a licence renewal only and does not include any hardware. Keeping the subscription live keeps your tool on Dimsport’s current update and support path, so the device you rely on for customer work continues to develop alongside the vehicles arriving in your workshop.
Is Renewal Mandatory? Understanding the Late Renewal Charge
No. Renewing your TheGenius subscription is not mandatory, and the decision sits entirely with you. However, Dimsport applies a late renewal charge once three months have passed since your subscription expired. At that point an extra amount equal to 50% of the total subscription price is added to the renewal.
In practical terms, a renewal placed inside the three month window costs the standard subscription price, while a renewal placed after it costs one and a half times that price. For any business that expects to keep using TheGenius, the commercial logic is simple: make the renewal decision before the three month mark and avoid paying half as much again for the same licence.
Information Required to Process Your Renewal
Every renewal is matched to a specific tool and a specific Dimsport account, so three details are required at checkout. Please enter your registered Dimsport email address, the current expiry date of your subscription and your tool serial number. The email address must be the one registered with Dimsport against your tool, not simply the address you use to order from our shop, and the serial number must be entered exactly as it appears on your TheGenius.
Accurate details allow the renewal to be applied to the correct tool first time. Incorrect or incomplete information will delay activation, so double check each entry before you complete your order.
Built In Contract Management Keeps Expiry Visible
TheGenius includes built in contract management, allowing you to monitor licence renewals and expiry dates directly on the device. This is where you should confirm your expiry date before ordering. Checking it on the tool itself removes guesswork and makes it easy to plan your renewal well inside the three month window.
The redesigned interface also brings support to the tool. From the home screen you can open support tickets, access video tutorials and the knowledge base, and use mirroring mode for remote assistance by connecting TheGenius to a PC.
