AutoTuner OBD II 24 V Cable (ATOBD002)
Truck. 24 Volt. OBD-II.
The dedicated lead for connecting your AutoTuner Tool to 24 V truck diagnostic sockets
The AutoTuner OBD II 24 V cable (ATOBD002) is the dedicated lead that connects the AutoTuner Tool to the OBD-II diagnostic socket of a truck. It is built for professional tuners and commercial workshops who need a dependable link for OBD based ECU work on 24 V heavy vehicles, straight from the cab.

What the AutoTuner OBD II 24 V Cable Does
This is the genuine AutoTuner lead that links the AutoTuner Tool to the OBD-II diagnostic socket of a truck. Where a vehicle and its ECU are supported for OBD connection on the AutoTuner compatibility list, this cable lets you carry out that work through the diagnostic port without stripping the controller out of the chassis. For commercial customers that matters enormously, because a truck sitting on your yard is a truck that is not earning its operator money.
At Mobile Eco Tuning we run AutoTuner equipment daily in our UK HQ workshop and support it across our network of more than 800 agents. Commercial and heavy vehicle work is a large part of what our agents do, and the right connection lead for the job is the first thing we check before a single byte is read.
Why a Dedicated 24 V Lead Matters
Passenger cars and light commercials run 12 V electrical systems, while most heavy trucks run 24 V, typically from two 12 V batteries wired in series. That difference is not a detail you want to improvise around. AutoTuner supplies a specific cable for 24 V truck applications, and using the correct lead for the vehicle’s system voltage is basic discipline for anyone working on commercial ECUs professionally.
Keeping a separate, clearly identified 24 V lead in the truck kit also removes one of the most common sources of workshop error: grabbing whichever OBD cable happens to be on the bench. When your car lead and your truck lead are distinct items, your technicians connect with confidence every time.
OBD-II Versus Other Heavy Vehicle Diagnostic Ports
Not every heavy vehicle presents an OBD-II socket. Depending on the manufacturer, model year and market, a truck may instead use a round Deutsch style connector for its J1939 network, or it may carry an OBD-II socket in the cab. This cable is for the OBD-II diagnostic socket only. Before you quote a job, confirm which socket the vehicle actually has and check the AutoTuner compatibility list for the specific ECU and supported connection method, whether that is OBD, bench or boot.
Getting this right at the quoting stage is what separates a professional commercial tuner from someone who turns up and discovers the problem in the customer’s yard. Our agents are trained to identify the port and the ECU first, then select the cable, never the other way round.
Protecting the Write on Heavy Vehicles
Truck ECU operations can take considerably longer than a typical passenger car session, and a voltage dip partway through a write is the classic route to a controller that will not wake up. On a 24 V vehicle the cab is often full of parasitic loads: night heaters, fridges, telematics units, tachographs and lighting all draw current while the ignition is on. Switch off every non essential load before you begin, make sure the battery isolator is closed, and confirm both batteries are in good health rather than relying on the voltage you see at the start of the session.
Equally important is checksum discipline. Always save and archive the original read before anything is written, and let the tool and file service handle checksum correction as intended. A clean original backup stored against the vehicle registration and VIN is your insurance policy if anything ever needs to be reversed.
Backed by Mobile Eco Tuning
Mobile Eco Tuning are recognised specialists in ECU tuning, diagnostics and DPF solutions, and we hold a strong working relationship with AutoTuner. When you buy your AutoTuner cables from us, you are buying from a team that uses the same equipment in our own workshop every day and supports hundreds of agents doing commercial vehicle work across the UK. If you are unsure whether this is the right lead for a particular truck, speak to us before you order and we will point you in the right direction.

Never support a 24 V truck during a long ECU session by clipping a 12 V charger across one battery. With two batteries in series, that charges one and leaves the pair unbalanced, so the voltage the ECU sees can still sag under load. Use a proper 24 V power supply connected across the full battery bank, take a voltage reading at the diagnostic socket rather than the battery posts, and only start the write once that figure is stable. If the cab socket reads noticeably lower than the batteries, find the bad earth or corroded connection first, because a marginal supply that holds during a read can drop out halfway through a write.
