METClean DPF Cleaner Stage 1 & 2
Professional On-Vehicle DPF Regeneration System.
Restore Performance Without Removal. The METClean DPF Cleaner Stage 1/2 is a high-performance chemical solution designed to clear soot and carbon build-up from the honeycomb structures of Diesel Particulate Filters without removing the filter from the vehicle.
Formulated for use with the METClean DPF Flush Tool, this water-based, non-flammable, and metal-free formula ensures thorough cleaning without leaving any residue, regenerating the DPF for maximum engine performance.
Key Benefits
- ✓ Soot & Oil Removal: efficient clearing of carbon blockage.
- ✓ Safe Formula: Water-based, non-flammable, and metal-free.
- ✓ No Residue: Leaves the filter structure clean.
- ✓ Cost Effective: Fixes blocked DPFs without expensive replacement.
The Two-Stage System
Stage 1: The Cleaner
A high-performance cleaner specially formulated to break down soot and carbon build-up. It is injected directly into the DPF to soak and loosen deposits within the honeycomb structure.
Stage 2: The Flush
A professional-grade flushing concentrate designed to follow Stage 1. It cleans and regenerates the filter, ensuring all loosened contaminants are removed and the system is returned to optimal flow.
Application Guide
Preparation: Ensure the engine is at optimal operating temperature before starting. Ensure vehicle faults are fixed prior to cleaning.
STEP 1: CLEAN (500ml)
- Turn off the engine.
- Pour the contents of the 500ml bottle into the METClean DPF cleaning solution applicator.
- Using the adapter, inject the solution directly into the DPF via the pressure pipe or EGT orifice.
- Allow to soak for 15 minutes.
- Run the engine at approx. 1500 RPM for 10 minutes.
STEP 2: FLUSH (2 Litres)
- Pour 1L (half the bottle) into the applicator.
- With the engine running at idle, inject the fluid directly into the DPF.
- Run engine at approx. 1500 RPM for 10 minutes to ensure atomisation.
- Repeat with the remaining 1 Litre.
STEP 3: ROAD TEST
Take the vehicle for a 20-minute test drive, frequently accelerating beyond 3000 RPM to achieve optimal cleaning and regeneration.
Important Operational Notes:
- Leakage Warning: Fluid may leak from the exhaust pipe during the process. To avoid stains, place a container beneath the exhaust to capture any leakage.
- Disposal: After processing, flush the spray applicator with water. Dispose of any captured waste fluid through a certified waste management company.
- Soot vs. Ash: This process ONLY removes SOOT and OIL residues. It will not remove Ash from an aged DPF. For complete Ash removal, the DPF must be removed and cleaned using the METCLEAN E, S, or XL Series machines.
- Vehicle Condition: Any underlying mechanical faults must be rectified prior to cleaning to ensure good results.
METClean DPF cleaner stage 1/2 Knowledgebase
What is the specific purpose of the Stage 2 fluid?
It is the "Flush" or "Rinse" agent. After the Stage 1 fluid has chemically broken down the soot and carbon inside the filter, Stage 2 is designed to flush those dissolved deposits out of the exhaust system, leaving the DPF clear and ready for regeneration.
Can I use this product on its own without Stage 1?
No, it works as a system. METCLEAN Stage 2 is designed to work sequentially with METCLEAN Stage 1. Stage 1 softens the blockage, and Stage 2 removes it. Using Stage 2 alone on a blocked filter will not be effective.
Is this a fuel additive that I pour into the tank?
No, absolutely not. This is a direct-application cleaning fluid. It must be injected directly into the DPF via the pressure sensor pipe or temperature sensor port using a spray gun or applicator. Putting this in your fuel tank could damage the engine.
Why should I buy METCLEAN from Mobile Eco Tuning (MET)?
It’s developed by tuners, for tuners. This isn't a rebranded generic chemical. It is the exact fluid formula our company, Mobile Eco Tuning, developed for use in their professional DPF cleaning machines and mobile vans. You are buying a product proven on thousands of real-world vehicles.
Do I need to perform a DPF regeneration afterwards?
Yes, this is critical. After flushing with Stage 2 and clearing the foam from the exhaust, you must take the vehicle for a drive or perform a forced static regeneration to dry out the filter and reset the pressure values.
Will this fluid damage the Precious Metals in the catalyst?
No, it is safe for the DOC/DPF. The chemical formulation is specifically balanced to clean soot and ash without attacking the platinum or palladium coatings on the Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) or the filter substrate itself.
How much fluid do I need for one car?
Typically 1 Litre is sufficient. For a standard passenger car DPF, 1L of Stage 2 is usually enough to flush the system after the Stage 1 treatment. Larger vans or trucks may require a larger volume to ensure a complete flush.
What equipment do I need to apply it?
A DPF Applicator Gun. You will need a compressed air spray gun or a pressurized bottle with a probe that fits into the DPF sensor port. We sell the specific application tools here at Mobile Eco Tuning (MET) if you don't already have them.
What comes out of the exhaust during the process?
Expect foam and liquid waste. As the engine runs (typically at 2000-2500rpm) after application, white foam carrying the dissolved carbon will be ejected from the tailpipe. You must place a catch tray or bucket under the exhaust to collect this waste responsibly.
Is it compatible with AdBlue systems?
Yes, it is safe. The cleaning process takes place in the exhaust stream. While it cleans the DPF, it does not interfere with the SCR (AdBlue) injector or mixer, provided you follow the application instructions correctly.
Can I use this on a completely blocked "non-runner" DPF?
It depends on the severity. If the car starts and idles, yes. If the DPF is so blocked the engine won't run, you may need to remove the DPF for off-car cleaning in a METCLEAN machine rather than using on-car chemicals.
How long should I let Stage 1 dwell before using Stage 2?
Usually 15-20 minutes. You typically apply Stage 1, let it soak into the soot for about 20 minutes to break down the bonds, and then apply Stage 2 to flush it all out while the engine is running.
Is this product acidic or alkaline?
Stage 2 is typically the neutralizer. While Stage 1 is often alkaline to attack carbon, Stage 2 acts as a rinse aid to neutralize the chemistry and lift the deposits, ensuring no corrosive residue is left inside the metal casing.
Does it work on Petrol Particulate Filters (GPF/OPF)?
Consult technical support. While the chemistry is similar, GPF systems operate at different temperatures and pressures. We recommend contacting Mobile Eco Tuning (MET) support to confirm compatibility with your specific petrol vehicle before proceeding.
What safety gear (PPE) should I wear?
Gloves and Goggles are mandatory. This is a professional chemical product. You should wear nitrile gloves and eye protection to prevent splashes during injection or when the foam is ejected from the exhaust pipe.
