Julie Mercedes Emulator | IMMO OFF and ESL/ELV
Mercedes. Chrysler. Immo Off.
Restore starting on Mercedes and Chrysler when the immobiliser fails
The Julie Mercedes emulator is a plug-in IMMO OFF and ESL/ELV device that replaces the immobiliser signal on Mercedes and Chrysler engine ECUs. Built for locksmiths and ECU repair specialists, it restores starting when an original immobiliser or electronic steering lock has failed, across 22 supported ECU types.
CAN and K-Line
24C02 EEPROM onboard
15 ESL / ELV variants
What the Julie Mercedes emulator does
The Julie Mercedes emulator is a dedicated immobiliser off solution that replaces the security handshake between the engine ECU and the vehicle immobiliser system. When a Mercedes or Chrysler engine control unit refuses to release fuelling because it can no longer authenticate against a failed DAS module, corrupted immobiliser data, or a dead electronic steering lock, the emulator supplies the signal the ECU is looking for so the engine will crank and run. This is the everyday reality of ECU and immobiliser repair, and it is exactly the scenario this device is engineered to close out on the bench.
Because it is a plug in emulator rather than a software subscription, there is no file to write and no online authorisation to wait on for the supported part numbers. The unit carries the immobiliser routine internally, communicates with the ECU over the correct protocol, and lets the technician verify a live start before the vehicle goes back together.
ECU coverage across Bosch, Lucas, Siemens and VDO
Coverage spans 22 confirmed ECU types. On the Bosch side that includes the CR1.2, CR1.7 and CR2.x common rail families, the EDC15V-6.3 used on Chrysler, the ME1.0, ME2.0, ME2.1 and ME2.8 petrol units, the MSA 15.1, MSA 25.1 and MSA 25.2 diesel controllers, the older M3.4.2, M3.4.3 and M3.4.4 Motronic units, and Bosch PMS. Lucas ED 0012 and ED013, Siemens PMS, and the VDO MSM and MSE units in their black, white and yellow socket variants are all supported.
One point deserves real attention before you order or fit. On the Bosch ME2.8 platform, only ECU part number 0 261 207 572 is a straight plug in fit. Every other ME2.8 unit, across both Mercedes and Chrysler, has to be individually matched to the emulator in the CarLabImmo lab. Treat ME2.8 as a case by case job, not a blanket yes, and always read the part number stamped on the casing against the full manual before committing.
ESL and ELV steering lock emulation
The failed electronic steering lock is one of the most common no start faults on the affected Mercedes ranges, and this emulator covers 15 ESL and ELV variants. That list includes the Sprinter II W906 up to 2010 and the shared VW Crafter, the Vito W639, and the W169, W176, W202, W203, W204, W208, W209, W210, W211, W212, W245, W246 and C207 platforms. The device emulates the electronic lock and unlock signalling the car expects, which lets a technician confirm whether the fault is genuinely in the ESL electronics rather than elsewhere in the CAN network.
Communication and onboard memory
The emulator talks to the vehicle over both CAN bus and K-Line, which is what allows a single device to span platforms from the early K-Line diesels through to the later CAN equipped units. Onboard it carries a 24C02 EEPROM, the standard serial memory used to hold the immobiliser data the ECU authenticates against. For a repair specialist that combination means predictable behaviour on the bench and clean, repeatable results across the supported vehicle list.
Broad Mercedes coverage
Supports 22 ECU types across the Bosch, Lucas, Siemens and VDO families fitted to Mercedes engine control units.
Chrysler compatibility
Extends beyond Mercedes to Chrysler applications running the Bosch EDC15V-6.3 controller, widening the return on a single tool.
ESL and ELV emulation
Covers 15 electronic steering lock variants, from the W906 Sprinter and Crafter through the W169 to W246 platforms.
Dual CAN and K-Line
Communicates over both CAN bus and K-Line, so one device spans the earlier and later Mercedes generations.
Onboard 24C02 EEPROM
A built in 24C02 EEPROM holds the immobiliser data the ECU authenticates against for consistent bench results.
Plug in fit with defined exceptions
Direct fit on the supported part numbers, with Bosch ME2.8 outside 0 261 207 572 requiring individual lab matching.

💡 Mobile Eco Tuning Pro Tip:
Always read the exact part number stamped on the ECU casing against the full supported list before you order or fit, because visually identical units can carry different internal immobiliser routines. This is most critical on the Bosch ME2.8, where only 0 261 207 572 is a true plug in fit and every other ME2.8 has to be lab matched, and on the VDO MSE, where the black, white and yellow socket variants are not interchangeable. One more point on steering locks: this emulator replaces the electronic ESL signal, not the mechanical column function, so confirm the fault is genuinely electronic before you condemn the lock, and check the CAN network first so you are not chasing a comms fault with a new part.
